CBSE 12th result 2020 has been announced and is available on the board’s official result website, ‘cbseresults.nic.in’.

Finally, the wait of over 12 lakh students is over. This year total of 88.78 percent students have passed in 12th exam and the pass percentage has increased by 5.38%. Girls have outperformed boys with 92,15 %. The pass percentage of boys is 86.19%. The CBSE 12th result 2020 shows pass percentage of CBSE Class 12th transgender students as 66.67.

Result of 400 students could not be released on the basis of alternative assessment scheme and will be announced later. CBSE said individual results are being sent by the SMS and emails available with the Board.

The HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal congratulated students. In his tweet , the minister wrote “Dear Students, Parents and Teachers! CBSE has announced the result of class 12th and can be accessed at cbseresults.nic.in.We congratulate you all for making this possible. I reiterate the Student’s health and quality education are our priority.”

Result Announcement

The result comes two days ahead of the expected date. CBSE in a notice earlier verbalized in the Supreme Court that it was cancelling all remaining exams and will announce results by July 15.

The Board then presented an alternative assessment scheme for subjects for which exam could not be conducted. This alternative assessment scheme includes a student’s performance based on internal assessment or practical or project-based assessment

CBSE 12th Result 2020: Top Three Regions with leading pass percentage

Regions with leading pass percentage are from South India. It was reported that Trivandrum region has recorded the highest pass percentage with 97.67 per cent whereas Bengaluru is at second spot with 97.05 pass percentage, and Chennai is third with 96.17 pass percentage.

Chandigarh falls at 16th number position and the pass percentage is 92.58%. Haryana with 94.36% remains at 19th number. Himachal has 94.24%, positioned at 12th and Delhi stands at tenth position with the pass percentage of 94.42%

School Wise Result

School wise result was also revealed, the best pass percentage of 98.70% has been achieved by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) at 98.62%. This year private schools have a pass percentage of 88.22 %.

CBSE Topper

Topper of CBSE has scored perfect 100 in English, Sanskrit, History and Economics and Geography. Divyanshi Jain from Lucknow has scored 100 out of 100 and wants to pursue research in History in her further studies.

West Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee also congratulated class 12 students on Twitter.

“Congratulations to the class 12 CBSE students on their well deserved success. I hope you accomplish more things in the coming days to come. I would also like to give my regards to the hardworking teachers and parents who have guided them towards success. ” he wrote.

Optional Exams

As reported earlier, CBSE announced to render option to willing students to improve their results. CBSE said the schedule for the optional exams and compartment exams would be decided in consultation with Government of India and will be proclaimed later. Board has decided against the merit list this year due to temporary change in evaluation criteria, also replacing the term ‘Fail’ with ‘essential repeat.’

Tricity Result (Chandigarh along with Panchkula and Mohali )

Oshil Bansal achieved a maximum percentage of 99.4 % in Commerce stream, a student of Bhavan Vidyalaya, resident of Panchkula, topped Tricity in 12th CBSE exam. She scored perfect 100 in four subjects economics, mathematics, accountancy and business studies.

In non-medical stream, with 98.8 % marks, Anirudh Garg of Stepping Stone School topped Tricity.

With 98.6% Shruti Goel of Bhavan Vidyalaya topped medical stream. Whereas humanities stream has a top percentage of 99%, attained by Aradhana Kumari of St. Soldier’s School and Krishna Sethi of Bhavan Vidyalaya in Tricity.

Counselling Sessions

After the proclamation of results, CBSE has issued details of its 23rd edition of post-result counselling facility. According to the official notice, the counselling of CBSE class 12th result year 2020 will be available from July 13 to July 27. As reported by CBSE, post-result counselling organised by Board will be done with the help of 95 trained volunteer principals and trained counsellors.
